Hipster How To

Welcome, fellow Hipsters to The Hipster Committee's first blog post! As you may have noticed I am, of course, writing in Helvetica. But more to the point, you may have noticed from the Facebook page, that we are a fresh "underground/never-heard-of/new committee comprising of set values all hipsters must worship and/or hold" (it says so in our description boxes) and our aim is to enlighten each and every fellow hipster into the complex culture of The Hipster.

Now you might be wondering what a hipster actually is. So here's a simple breakdown.

"\hip-stur\ n. One who possesses tastes, social attitudes, and opinions deemed cool by the cool. The Hipster walks among the masses in daily life but is not a part of them and shuns or reduces to kitsch anything held dear by the mainstream.

Typically a Hipster can be identified by vintage or thrift-store bought clothing, a taste for obscure or underground music, a penchant for irony and an elitist attitude."

Okay, this is the part where I get to the core of the blog post and inform all of you hipsters, well... Just how to be a hipster. So instead of typing the 1001 ways of wearing a checkered shirt, watching your favourite band live while at the same time reading their autobiography and giving you several tips on how to reject mainstream society, I'm going to let this Youtube video inform you of all of this:

So once again, welcome! And thanks fellow Hipsters for tuning into the Facebook page and enjoying the numerous posts on this deck as phenomenon, The Hipster.

Yours,
The Hipster Committee
